Draft Breakdown v2.0

First Round
Peria Jerry
DT Ole Miss Senior
6'2" 299 lbs 40: 4.98 sec
Strengths: A true 3 technique, Jerry is a 1 gap penetrator that can cause trouble in the backfield. Good initial strength and quick burst. Does a good job using his hands to get off blocks. Showed solid production against outstanding SEC offensive lines. Can move laterally down the line effectively. Solid lower body strength. Had a tremendous weak at the Senior Bowl, facing top competition as well as playing along side them.
Weaknesses: Probably won't be able to carry more weight for his frame. Will be limited to play the 3 technique as he's too small to play the nose or take on double teams on a consistent basis. Wouldn't hurt for him to get stronger in an NFL weight room. Has a history or injuries. Older than most prospects at 25 years old.
Quick Hits: Transferred from Hargrave Military Academy and got a late start to his college career. Was 1st team All-American his senior year as well as 1st team All-SEC. Has had a history of injuries throughout his college career, most recently having knee surgery before the 2008 season. Comes from a family of football players, having 2 cousins that have played linebacker in the NFL, and currently has several relatives on the Ole Miss roster. Had a solid senior year capping it with a a solid performance at the Senior Bowl.
