Top 15

Malcolm Jenkins
CB Ohio State Senior
6'0" 204 lbs 40: 4.55 sec
Strengths: An outstanding, well rounded defensive back. Jenkins has ideal size and bulk and plays physically with every WR he matches up with. Jenkins is a legitimate shut down corner, staying low in his back pedal and staying smooth in transitions. Jenkins plays well in both zone and man cover schemes. Unafraid of contact, Jenkins is solid in run support and a willing tackler. Jenkins has great instincts and ball skills, knowing just when to turn and look for the ball while it's in the air. Good leaping skills, Jenkins attacks the ball at it's highest point, fighting off the WR on the way up. Has the size and versatility to play safety as well as corner at the next level. Jenkins is a high character player that was a team captain at Ohio State.
Weaknesses: It's hard to find much downside to Jenkins game as he's a very well-rounded player. Jenkins does lack elite timed speed and his stock dropped a bit after a lack-luster combine performance. Many question whether or not Jenkins will be a better free safety than corner in the NFL, but I feel he could play either successfully. Jenkins relies on his instincts and tends to gamble, which doesn't always work out.
Quick Hits: A three year starter in the Big 10. Jenkins would have been a first round pick after his Junior season, but elected to stay. First team All-Big 10 all three seasons he was a starter. Many think Jenkins will be a better safety in the NFL, but I feel he could be a Rod Woodson type, transitioning to safety after many successful years as a corner.
