The prototypical cover corner. Moore isn’t the biggest, the fastest, or the most physical, but he can flip his hips and run with just about anyone. An extremely versatile player, he played some WR and QB for the Commodores in addition to his duties as a CB and KR. A fluid athlete that really plays bigger than he measured at the combine (which was a surprise). Played is one of the tougher conferences in the NCAA, the SEC, and was tied for the lead in the SEC in interceptions in 2007 with 6. DJ is more physical than he gets credit for, and he doesn’t mind sticking his head in to help with the run game. Has great instincts and broke up a lot of passes. A playmaker in the secondary, as well as on Special Teams (and even offense). Good vision with the ball in his hands and a threat to take the ball the distance. Good ball skills as well. |
| Weaknesses: |
His size is a disadvantage, but there are plenty of smaller cornerbacks in the NFL that are successful. Instincts will take over at times, forcing him to gamble to try and make the big play. Tackling is inconsistent, but he isn’t afraid to try. Will get engulfed by bigger receivers when being blocked in the run game. Needs to develop his technique in Press coverage to make sure he doesn’t get too high when going for the jam. |

A 3 year starter in the SEC, he struggled in his first year against the top WRs in the SEC, but was still named to the All Conference Freshman team. Moore majored in Communications and appears to be a high character player. Consistently called one of the best players in Vanderbilt football history, Moore certainly has all the tools to be a shutdown cover-corner in the NFL. A prospect that is being overlooked because of his size, but could be the steal of round 2. Moore will make a team very happy because of his versatility and could even save a roster spot.
