Top 5
Aaron Curry
OLB Wake Forest Senior
6'1" 254 lbs 40: 4.56 sec
Strengths: Hands down, the best defensive prospect in the draft, let alone the best in his position. Able to shed blockers and made the tackle, Curry can also dish out the big hits. The complete package, Curry is agressive, loves to play physical football, and has the combination of size and speed you look for in an outside backer. Curry has the instincts and toughness to play inside backer, but has the pass rushing skills and coverage ability to play outside in any system. Curry went his entire college career without a significant injury.
Weaknesses: Needs work in coverage and has trouble matching up against quicker receivers. Has a tendency to over pursue the play, but this can be corrected.
Quick Hits: A four year starter in the ACC, Curry is exactly what you look for in a linebacker. Curry won the Butkus Award for the nation's top linebacker during his senior season, easily beating Rey Maualuga, James Laurinaitis and Brian Cushing. Had a chance to go pro his junior year but decided to stay for his senior season, which only helped him.
